If you have read the “Magical Art of Tidying Up” by Marie Kondo, you’re familiar with her system of letting go of things that don’t bring you joy. Inviting more joy into your life raises your vibration. Letting things go creates space for the things that really matter and align with your soul. Soul alignment brings an awareness and recognition to areas in your life where you compromise your core beliefs and yourself to some degree. I encourage taking a total inventory of your life and observing everything you are choosing that compromises a piece of you. Where are you sacrificing your time, energy and resources? What are you holding onto that doesn’t align with your soul? The things we invite into our life like the people we spend time with, or nutrition we put into our bodies really matter. The media and music we expose ourselves to, as well as the internal dialogue with ourselves about ourselves is also important. If you feel yourself gripping onto something or making excuses as to why you can’t let go, that’s the first sign it’s not in resonance. What are you willing to release to elevate and change your life?
Clinging to old patterns and relationships leave no room for the right things to be invited in. People hold onto things they know aren’t moving them forward. Take the lesson, honor the experience and walk away from the trauma, stories, and the pain. We all have an inner knowing deep down of what is working in our lives and what isn’t. The problem is, fear holds people hostage. We doubt ourselves and question our ability to rise to meet the dream. Many people are stuck in survival mode and have long given up any hope of their dreams coming true or worry about what other people will think if they even dare to dream. We also have emotional attachments to what we think our lives should look like (the nice car, the perfect family, certain credentials or career milestones) which cause us to make choices that don’t always align with our inner being. We defend our decisions to remain stuck by convincing others (but basically ourselves) that we’re doing the right thing. When you are in perfect alignment with your soul, your decisions never require permission from anyone or an explanation.
Complete detachment from everything is the secret. Become an observer of your life. Get curious around why you are responding to things in a certain way or why you are feeling what you are feeling. Thorough examination of your emotions helps you drill deep down and see there is some aspect of yourself coming to the surface for healing. In my case it was often a need to be seen, or to get validation or recognition. Being invisible was my story and I held onto it for decades. Once I was able to slowly peel back the layers behind my feelings and behaviors, I realized I had been holding these fears close to my chest. I then behaved in a way that created the very thing I feared. My inability to be vulnerable and own my role in everything and my refusal to process my true feelings kept me from being my authentic self.
Releasing old beliefs, wounds, traumas, and behaviors that held me back was required to be the best version of me. The problem was I was afraid to leave my comfort zone. I settled and compromised because the thought of letting go of what was familiar caused too much emotional discomfort. How many of us are holding onto relationships, jobs, homes, and beliefs that no longer align with who we are? Clinging to these things leaves no space for the right things to come into our lives. The longer I resisted necessary changes in my life, the more I suffered. Situations in my life got more and more intense until I was forced to pay attention. I had to face myself and go deeper into my heart space. This was where I held my deepest vulnerabilities and darkness. I had closed myself off to protect my fragile heart.
After YEARS of inner work, I was finally able to let go of my attachment to anything. I let go of my perceived failures, I released my attachment to the negative judgment of the people around me, I walked away from people who refused to see me and support me in my life. The most powerful thing was letting go of the story! I became an observer of the behaviors and situations presenting in my life without judgment. I don’t turn them into stories about me. As I came into full alignment with myself, no excuses or explanations were required for my actions. I stood in my power fully and completely, made decisions and set firm boundaries. My energy speaks volumes, no words are necessary.
We live our lives as if we have all the time in the world but every moment counts. The sooner we align with our truth and release everything that needs to go, the sooner we level up in our lives. A lot of effort goes into justifying choices that aren’t good for us, aligned choices require no explanation. My life changed in the following ways once I started to honor myself completely. I no longer made excuses for who I am. I have very clear boundaries about what I will and will not tolerate which includes boundaries. Other people have of me which are not aligned with who I am and I decide what I will spend my time, energy and money on. Also, choose what I invite into every aspect of my life. My friends are true friends. My time is honored and valuable, so I am fully present 100% for the people and activities I participate in. I refuse to dim my light for anyone, every again. My level of discernment is now at a place where I will read your energy and frequency and discern truth, regardless of the words coming out of your mouth or the behavior you are trying to justify.
My life is the eternal magical art of tidying up. I’m tidying up all the loose ends in my life not because my life is ending, but because my life is just beginning. The more I release, the easier it becomes. I will no longer play this game of life with heavy weights tied to my ankles. I plan to break free of these limitations and go as high as I can go. I hope you will join me on this journey and be the highest and best version you are here to be!
