Time is eternal yet fleeting, we have had many lifetimes to learn our soul lessons. Whether you believe that or not, is irrelevant, as we all come into this life to learn and experience things from a soul perspective. It is through our every thought and action that we become who we are, and who we are meant to be. Every moment and choice counts. Every moment and choice creates the stepping stone on the road that will rise to meet you. One decision may lead you one way, a different choice may lead you another. Do not be fooled by the illusion that you have unlimited time here. Do not squander any moment, which is an opportunity for greatness, the opportunity to be the highest version of yourself. There is no failure or wrong choice, however there are decisions that can be made that are going to give you the highest and best outcome for your current situation.
Follow your path and trust your instincts. Pay attention to the patterns occurring in your life. What are you meant to learn from those recurring themes? It is time to put the suffering and fear down. It is time to connect to your power and stand in your truth. The time is now, to acknowledge what has not been working and let those thoughts and behavior patterns go. It is difficult to embrace change, for it may mean some rough seas ahead, it may mean you don’t know your destination, and the uncertainty can feel uncomfortable. Not one person who has achieved greatness, sat home in a situation that no longer served them and allowed fear to keep them from transcending that situation. Not one person who has stepped into a version of themselves that allowed their light to shine, decided to play small and remain silent about their truth. We are all born into this life to experience something, to offer something to the collective. We have all come into this life with the knowledge, tools, character to be who we are meant to be, and trust me when I say, it wasn’t to live a life full of doubt, fear and negativity about our worthiness. Each of us is born with a GPS, a navigational system driven by your higher self. The higher self is guiding and nudging you towards the highest and best outcome for you, however, it is up to you to listen and choose to follow that intuition.
When I began my journey many years ago, I was stuck in sort of a no man’s land. It was a place that wasn’t uncomfortable, but I wasn’t fully living to my potential or truth either. I had this voice (the EGO)
that encouraged me to play it safe, to remain small, to be invisible. It was “easier” that way. I pleased people that way, and didn’t rock the boat. There came a time, however, when pleasing people became harder and harder. I couldn’t be the person everyone wanted me to be because it was taking me so far from my truth. It was taking me so far away from my soul, I was worried I couldn’t find my way back. That is when I realized I didn’t have all the time in the world, I didn’t want to die with regrets about not standing in my power and being who I came here to be.
The interesting thing about coming into your power is, the people around you don’t like it. They are used to you aligning yourself with their agenda, at least most of the time, whether that means taking a trip they want you to take, or eating at a restaurant they want to dine at, or maybe even you feeling bad about not “living up to your potential” in a job that doesn’t pay that much because you are failing to meet someone’s expectations of you. The people you have catered to your entire life, start to get angry because suddenly you aren’t the person who is bowing down. Suddenly, you have your own agenda and ideas and they don’t resonate with the people around you. Suddenly, in their minds, YOU are making waves and causing problems. YOU are selfish. YOU are pissing people off because YOU have chosen to be TRUE to YOURSELF!
There will come a point in time where things get turbulent. I chose to honor myself and it took courage because I knew people would talk about me behind my back, they would feel like I didn’t love them because I was placing my needs over theirs. I was following my own path and my family didn’t like it, my husband was worried because I was changing (and what would that look like for our relationship), and I was choosing not to comply with requests for family reunions, or other events that I just didn’t want to go to. There was no need in my mind for explanations. Sometimes I didn’t have the cash to go to Hawaii (where our family is from) because we were educating our son at an extremely expensive private college. Sometimes we couldn’t create space in our lives to align with someone else’s agenda. In the past we would have racked up credit card bills, or made a trip happen at all costs. Now, we do what is best for my husband and myself. The boundaries are now established and respected, but in the beginning, it was extremely hard. Expect push back, when you step onto this path. With every moment the sands in the hourglass are slipping away. The time is now to stand in your truth.
