Many of us have been living an unconscious life. By unconscious I mean a life of routine, a desire to go with the herd and accept whatever we have been told. We are manipulated by the media and the marketing we are bombarded with daily telling us what to believe, what to buy and what success looks like. We are drawn like bugs to the light chasing shiny objects and money. Success we are told is external, it has nothing to do with who we are as an individual. That version of success is a house of cards. It looks fabulous on the outside but is hollow on the inside. No one encourages us to be aware of who we are, no one shows us how to be authentic or encourages us to be our unique and magnificent selves. Conformity is rewarded, marching to your own drummer is not. By following the herd, we live an unconscious life. It is the mindless acceptance of what is presented without using discernment to determine if the information aligns with our individual truth.
Consciousness is awareness by the mind of itself and the world around it. It’s awareness that there are other perspectives and ideas outside the box that exist. Alignment with our truth and our life path is the single most important thing that creates personal success. Consciousness is the awareness that our ideas and values don’t resonate with the rest of the world. It can mean breaking away from the pack to follow our dreams and truth. When this happens, everyone in our family or circle of friends may treat us like we are running with scissors and eating paste. As I started to break away from mainstream thinking, my family thought I had lost my mind. It took courage to stand in my authentic power. It took decades to realize that the standards I was trying to live up to didn’t align with who I was. I was doing things out of obligation rather than questioning if any of it aligned with my values. People who have expected you to go along with their agenda become very uncomfortable when you start standing in your power. They don’t like it when you start honoring your time and truth. They tell you how selfish you are or suggest there is something wrong with you. It takes courage to live a conscious life because once you begin expanding your consciousness you start to see reality from a different perspective.
I was living an unconscious life for decades, chasing things that didn’t even matter to me. I knew I was a good person, but no one placed any value on that. As I became more aware of who I was, I realized how much I had been compromising myself to make other people happy. As I stepped into my authentic power I became conscious of who I AM, it meant making unpopular decisions. I chose an unconventional profession as a Marconic Energy Practitioner. This made people in my family uncomfortable. They responded in fear and judgment, I stayed in my lane. I don’t apologize for who I am or what is true for me. People who are unconscious are afraid of change, they are afraid to question anything, to look for their truth and not blindly accept what they have been spoon fed their entire lives. They look to other people for approval (their family, their faith, their peers, their boss). Fear of not being accepted keeps them chained to unhealthy behavior patterns and beliefs. Fear of judgment and unconscious living go hand in hand.
Consciousness is the awareness that you as an individual came into this life for a reason. It is a purpose and calling that resonates with you and you alone. You were born with the exact gifts and knowledge and strength and courage to be exactly who you came here to be, NOT what others expect you to be. When you step firmly on your soul path, when you honor your truth and know who you are, you begin to live a conscious life. You make decisions that honor your mind, body and soul. You stand in your light rather than allow others to dim it. You draw to you all the abundance that you deserve by living in complete alignment with who you are. The answer is not found in a book or a workshop or a webinar. The answer lies within you. When you empty your mind of the clutter and negative stories, when you release the people who hold you back and make room for those who love and support you, your life will begin to shift. Your conscious decision to honor your truth creates a new reality, one that creates such alignment the Universe has no choice but to bring to you all the abundance you deserve.
2018 is here! It is time to take your life back. It is time to honor your soul! It is time to be who you came here to be!
