As an ascension coach I spend a lot of time working with clients helping them to align with their highest potential. I encourage people to have the courage to explore uncomfortable feelings and dig deeper to release old programs and emotions that no longer serve them. Slowly, through the process of shedding and releasing and reconnection to the heart space, the truth emerges around who they really are. They discover the diamond within. I see this diamond of the soul so precious, illuminated and suspended in midair shooting out rainbow colored fractals of light. Somehow over time it becomes dimmed and muted covered by years of human experience, expectation, and judgment.
As I pondered the essence of my work, the word blood diamond came to me; the journey to finding yourself and your core being coming through blood, sweat and tears. It is a full spectrum experience of tragedy and defeat, with many opportunities to give up and tap out. The blood diamond to me represents the strength and courage within us to keep moving forward and fighting the fight to return to our original pure state. The human spirit is incredibly strong and resilient. Sometimes we surprise ourselves. As we climb the mountain of adversity, things become intolerable enough to force our hand and create change. We dig deep and find courage and fortitude to go on returning to our place of origin, triumphantly holding onto that glorious reconnection to our soul, like a prize fighter holding up his championship belt. The moment of birth, we enter this game of life completely connected to ourselves at source, we are pure love and light. Over time, social conditioning and fear programming replace unconditional love and we learn to filter and censor ourselves. Ironically, the one thing we are seeking either consciously or unconsciously is reconnection to the thing we lose over the years which is ourselves.
In 2006 I watched the movie “Blood Diamond”. It was intense and focused on diamonds mined in war zones and sold to finance conflicts, and thereby profiting warlords and diamond companies around the world. The focus was on 2 characters played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Djimon Hounsou pulling off an almost impossible task of finding and smuggling a huge prized blood diamond out of the slave pits from which they are mined. What resonated for me was the parallel of the struggle, the fear, the physical endurance, and mental strength it took to achieve the goal. Our Earth experience is like that. We get dropped on this planet (almost like the movie Hunger Games) and given some tools like intellect, cunning, good looks, athletic ability, or artistry (which we choose ourselves before coming into this life).
From the moment of birth, the race flag drops, and our evolution and life lessons begin. Who we become is shaped by the experience of the family we are born into, the socio economic and cultural environment are exposed to in life, and our response to it. How will we respond to every challenge and heart break we face? Will we be loved by our parents or will we be beaten down mentally and physically? The obstacles become the foundations and cornerstones of our perspective and reality. They shape us and define us. The goal is to transcend it all without judgment and go as far as we can to return to our soul origin. Every experience is an integral piece of the puzzle, none of it insignificant.
I send you all love as you continue to evolve through your own blood diamond journey. Trust me, the gift waiting for you, that pure diamond within is worth it. Stay the course, keep pressing on, and know that I believe in you!
