Sometimes life takes us right to the edge of destruction in order to blow everything apart. It feels like the end, like we are being squeezed into Spanx that are a size too small and we can’t breathe or move. The end however is not the end, it’s merely a transition into something greater. It is the springboard to new heights. It is the opportunity to shift how we have been approaching situations in our life, to move or elevate. When you respond to situations with the same predictable choices, you create the same predictable outcomes. There is zero growth. It takes discomfort and disease and an internal shake to move us along. You are here to evolve, to learn and expand who you are as individuals and a collective.
Have you ever felt like your entire world is imploding? Maybe the dog needs surgery, your home flooded, your boyfriend cheated on you, the kids are working your last nerve and you are on the last warning at work. Perhaps you have so much to “do”, got the flu and were laid out in bed for 10 days while your work and anxiety level increased with every passing day. This my friends, is the Universe telling you something. The longer it takes to hear the message, the more intense life is going to become until you finally have no choice but to pay attention! STOP! Get quiet. Flip the mind switch OFF! While the mind is running around yelling “the sky is falling”, you have a decision to make. Are you going to go off the rails, or get quiet and figure out what this is about for you?
The edge is not a place to fear, it’s the doorway to possibility. Many hesitate, unsure if they should go through. Years, decades, perhaps a lifetime goes by, and still they pause right at that threshold. The longer we wait, the harder life pushes us. It can feel like tragedy and destruction of everything we know, like the rug is being pulled out from under our feet. It can feel like everything is ending, when in fact, it’s just beginning. Discomfort and suffering are the catalyst for change, it’s nudging us forward because we have tarried too long. The stage has been set and we are going to miss our cue.
Many people are in a place of transition right now. Perhaps relationships are shifting and changing with others as well as the relationship we have with ourselves. Every situation is an opportunity to take ownership of who we are and who we want to be. We have been programmed to question ourselves and seek answers from everyone else. No one knows what actions to take better than we do. We know ourselves better than anyone. We must get quiet and listen. What appears to be devastation is really clearing a path (mental, physical, or emotional). It’s up to us to embrace change and move forward.
This is the time to be gentle with ourselves, trust our intuition and pay attention to the signs. Every challenge is an opportunity to rise. We get to choose our perspective and decide whether to move forward or backward. The process of change is always uncomfortable. Even if it’s a good change there can be an unsettled feeling. Starting a new job for example, or moving to a new city is exciting, but there’s also an element of the unknown. As we navigate new directions in our lives it’s important to stay positive and look at the opportunities that are being created. It’s important to love ourselves through the process which means showing ourselves compassion and understanding around our feelings, nurturing ourselves with good food, positive thoughts, sound decisions (rather than emotional ones). Pause, pay attention to the feelings coming up, acknowledge them, and then go a little deeper into the truth.
Our emotional makeup is like a multi layered cake. As things trigger emotion in our lives, we are being gifted opportunities to respond in an elevated way and peel back and release a layer. Each time a similar situation presents we are spiraling up and touching the same point on a timeline, we elevate as we release and heal layers of emotional baggage. When we respond in a more positive loving way to our circumstances, we clear another layer of emotional weight/karmic debris and rise.
Fear is the number one dream killer for everyone. Fear of failure, fear of the unknown, and fear of judgment holds us hostage. Perhaps you will have an impact on the world by having the courage to heal yourself. You possess a strength and courage far greater than you realize. Fear is a default program so firmly rooted in your psyche you don’t even realize it’s there. It’s a lower vibrational energy, a weight, a mindset we have shackled ourselves to thinking we are playing it safe, when in fact, we are denying our greatness.
Many of us are standing right at the threshold of that door and now it is time to step through. Whatever happens we will grow from it and the results may surprise us all. Cut the ties that bind you. Believe in yourself and stand in your power. That means own your truth, follow your heart and move forward. It’s time to create your future!
